ABOUT THE NATIONAL CARD COMPANY
In 2017 my son, Kevan, a playing card collector, asked me to locate where the National Card Company factory was and see what is there now. Since I live in Indianapolis I thought this would be an easy find. He showed me the “Hochman Encyclopedia of Playing Cards” entry that stated the factory was at 5th and Eggleton. I've been doing family history research for over 40 years and had a map of Indianapolis near that time. But surprise, there were no streets by those names. Time to do some more research. What follows is the fascinating history of the company and what became my new hobby.
