ABOUT THE NATIONAL CARD COMPANY

In 2017, my son, Kevan, a playing card collector, asked me to locate where the National Card Company factory was and see what is there now. Since I live in Indianapolis, I thought this would be an easy find. He showed me the “Encyclopedia of American Playing Cards” entry that stated the factory was at 6th and Eggleston. I've been doing family history research for over 50 years, and had a map of Indianapolis near that period. But, surprise, there were no streets by those names. It was then time to do some more research. What follows is what I found and the fascinating history of the company. It also led me to begin my new hobby of playing card collecting.
